The media ministry at First Baptist exists to help people connect to Jesus Christ and to provide quality television programming for Tifton and the south central Georgia area. Beginning in the 1960’s with radio, the 1970’s with television, and in the 1990’s with internet, the media ministry continues to seek new ways to reach out to today’s culture through relevant means without losing focus on Christ.

 

The television ministry began in 1978 with a single black and white camera. Minister of Music, Ron Lawhon, came in 1979 and began growing the ministry. It has now grown into a full time television station broadcasting over antenna as well as two cable systems with three live broadcasts weekly, special youth and music programs, and a wide variety of family friendly offerings.
