First Baptist is a Mission minded church and takes the command of Jesus seriously when He commanded us to go everywhere in the world to spread His Gospel. We have many ways to serve at home and around the nation and world.

Local
 
  • Faith Teams train and then visit homes of prospects, members, and shut-ins weekly.
  • Members visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and prisons to host Bible studies and share Christ.
  • Backyard Bible clubs are held in various neighborhoods.
  • For the Spanish speaking, Vida Abundante holds services for children, youth, and adults each Saturday, a teen service with activities on Thursday, and Bible study on Wednesdays.
  • For our Asian friends, Sunday school classes are available. Also, outside the church, home churches are being developed for the Vietnamese.
  • A Pregnancy Crisis Center and facilities for homeless adults are supported.
  • Choirs and musical groups share programs in various venues in the Tiftarea.
State
 
  • Members participate in Disaster Relief training, and teams have gone out within the state and to neighboring states to assist in times of natural disasters.
  • Members go to Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes to help with cleanup and repairs.
  • Youth, with Adult chaperones, make week long mission trips to places around the state to set up backyard Bible clubs, assist small churches, witness in vacation parks, and provide music.
National
 
  • Youth teams have gone and have plans to return to New Orleans to assist small churches through backyard Bible clubs, drama, games, music, and visitation in the host neighborhoods.
  • Youth and adult teams take mission trips each summer to Salt Lake City to assist and encourage a sister church and to witness within the Mormon community.
  • Youth teams have also gone to Gulf Shores, Alabama, Florida, Connecticut, and Chicago.
International
 
  • Teams and individuals have gone to Egypt, Africa, Russia, China, and England. Many trips were return trips to follow up on previous mission efforts.
  • Youth international mission trips have gone to the Bahamas, Moldova, Egypt, Africa, Cambodia, and Nicaragua.  There are trips planned for youth each summer.
